Puppy Programs

Puppyhood is exciting, fun and also exhausting! They’re full of energy, testing their boundaries and learning the art of potty-training. This time in their life is crucial for socialization and confidence.

Karla uses reward-marker based training to create an environment with communication a puppy understands and is excited to participate in. She focuses on the important things:

  • house manners

  • confidence in many environments

  • patience and politeness

all while engaging the puppy in various games for training (including intro to dock diving and puppy agility foundations) so the puppy doesn’t even realize they are learning important skills.

Puppy Jump Start

  • Bring your puppy to Side By Side’s puppy haven (daily drop-offs or sleepovers) for the important things like

    • socialization

    • confidence building

    • training for good manners

    In addition to the work done with Karla, you will receive 2x a week private lessons so you can resume the progress beyond the jump start program.

    One of the greatest benefits of training with Karla is communication. While you are an active client, Karla is readily available for updates, questions, recommendations and more.

Perfect Puppy Foundations

  • As your puppy grows and matures, they’ll be able to comprehend more complex asks.

    Karla specializes in capturing the moments your puppy is ready to evolve their skills. Through engagement, activities and fun, your dog won’t even know they’re training.

  • Program starts at 4 weeks, but is customized to your needs and can be extended

Custom Private Puppy Lessons

  • Learn the key to communicating with your dog by engaging in private lessons with Karla.

    Come to Side By Side once a week with a customized program, practice at home (Karla is just a text away!) and see confidence grow in both you as the owner and the dog.

What is the suggestion program progression for my puppy?

  • Karla recommends starting your puppy in the Puppy Jump Start Program, then moving to weekly private lessons, and completing puppyhood (around 8+ months of age) with Perfect Puppy Foundations.

Does my puppy have to spend the night?

  • We understand that you might want to bring your puppy home at night. Our programs can be flexible to what suits you best: drop them off for the day and bring them home at night or your puppy can have a sleepover at Side By Side, where they’ll be treated like one of Karla’s own.
